Commission for ~Ravenwolf89 She wanted a portrait of one of my knotes in the same picture as one of my equines. She sort of wanted a light and dark theme and, in a sense, a gloomy/happy theme. The Knote represents the night side and is supposed to be rather gloomy surrounded by his fog cats while the equine represents the light side and is full of joy.

What I find unique is the fact that the Knote is whole and furry yet sad while the equine is wasting away to bone yet has plants blooming on it and is glad The whole thing falls into a circle because I think these two must exist together. As ~Ravenwolf89's ideas and mine meshed, I think something rather unique and symbolic came out.

I really enjoy rotating this picture. When I want to feel night time I look at it this way and rotate it when I want to feel daylight.

Time: 20 estimated hours from original concept to final.
Tools: 0.5 mm mech pencil, chalk pastel, watercolour pencil
Reference: Various equine photos for anatomy.

yin-yang style <3
this is just... so beautiful.... I love the light-dark theme, and the beautiful fantasy creatures  they are quite interesting, and their anatomy is so neat! I also love the brilliant choices in color and how you textured the picture to where it appears to have a spiraling flow to it. beautiful shading, beautiful textures, beautiful creatures, beautiful concept, and most of all; beautiful artwork~

Thank you very much! Sorry for the delayed reply <3
Your work is excellent! One thing that has helped me with equine anatomy recently is a book called The Anatomy of the Horse by George Stubbs. It shows the anatomy of the horse layer by layer.:blackrose:

I have a 3D book that shows the anatomy of a T-Rex layer by layer, but I guess it's not really the same XD
Wonderful composition!

it is so beautiful, almost like a dance. I love it. I love the swirls of aqua color and the checkerboard theme. =) =) I always think your pieces can never get any more beautiful, and then, they do, and I am in awe!
