The Only Light Here... by ShePaintsWithBlood The Only Light Here... by ShePaintsWithBlood
Falls From My Face.

I think I only left that title because it was so pathetic it made me laugh.
This has been done for awhile, just had to erase a smudge by the eye area (and the Knote here has no eyes, the droplets just fall from its face) Sorry for more Knotes, this is a good ref to how their fronts and feet look though. Not all of them turn into trees at the tail end however.
I just left the watermark on this time without the text. Hopefully that causes me no trouble but I doubt it will.

Time: About five hours?
Tools: Acrylic on canvas, thus the awful scan.
Reference: None.

Knotes this piece and the blood are copyright© ShePaintsWithBlood, Aria (me) :blackrose:

Out of all the Knotes, I think this one is my favorite. I absolutely love the concept, and the use of color in this is wonderful.

I really like the concept and colors in this one:) Is the creature crying? Anyhow, simple and very beautiful piece:)

This was wonderfully executed! The picture looks so fluid and well-done. Is it supposed to be a nature spirit?

Thank you very much!

Knotes kind of actually embody a number of things. This one might have come from a chopped down forest or perhaps a forest polluted by the bodies of dead children. Usually they come from tragic circumstances and then bring "peace" or some kind of good thing to the area they choose to inhabit. Although they are not often the most chipper of people to meet. :blackrose:

Naturally!

Hmmmm...so they're like guardian spirits or protector gods? They do, based off of your description, remind me of some deities I've read about.

I think what they are is large concentrations of a specific emotion that takes the form partly of something from the past. Like...drifting clouds of peace or comfort in a sense?:blackrose:

That's quite interesting! So kind of like a ghost, but in a more philosophical way then they're usually portrayed.

i feel awful..because you always comment me an i never usuly comment you (i never check my watch list, lazy lazy lazy..bad me...) i feel awful about it so i will try to comment you more ^^

i adore the greens you have used it gives the image a regal emerald look to it. the rabbit horse dog thing (knotes or notes i think you said it was called...) it looks fantastic, i love how it looks like its turning into a tree towards the back end. all you creatures inspire me and ive noticed that my (nonposted) drawings i think look bad take most of their inspiration from yours ^^"

Aww, do not worry. My commenting has been really slow lately....

Thank you so much! I am glad you like my Knotes. I am not sure what they are...they looked vulpine in their second evolution but I am trying to sort of branch them out of that into something else. I am glad to be of inspiration ^n.n^ I think you made me really like drawing skull masks on my creatures.:blackrose:

I've been putting off commenting on this for a long time. I actually like this one a lot, it's just I don't really know how to describe it in words. This knote in particular is quite neat, I do like that tree root like tail end.

Thank you so much. I have given this Knote a lot of thought lately and I think eventually I would like to re-paint him and change him a bit as he looks like a lot of other people's characters...:blackrose:

Does he? I really haven't seen any knote type creatures anywhere but I don't watch many others art.
But I still do like the treeness (that sounds so stupid).

One of my favorites to date. The green is awwwwe. I have a giant soft spot for your knotes....but one even bigger for snails and mushrooms. ^_-
I really love the way it's forming to the elements like it is a part of life itself. great work on the front legs they look amazing.

I just bought myself a snail garden decoration that is about as big as one of our half-grown cats. I told my boyfriend I kinda wish I had one that big...then again it would have a huge stomach...eat all my plants. ^^

Oh, the snail!!! :D Awesome!

Of course, the rest of the painting is fantastic too! The transparent effect, the murky dark green, and the tail/tree--just great! I especially like the little details, like the mushrooms and the droplets and all the bright curves in the horns.
