+ Iriallis + by ShePaintsWithBlood + Iriallis + by ShePaintsWithBlood
A two hour "speed" painting I did while awaiting the go ahead to continue some commission work. I made another one too and if I have time it might be fun to do twelve of them for a calendar

The title is a loose translation of the equivalent of "August" on the world Orecello which I have depicted here.

Trust me, I adore the heat but Iriallis on Orecello is not fun even for a coldblooded creature like me. That must be why this dragon's face has dried into pretty much a skull.

Time: 2 hours
Tools: Watercolour paper, pastel and watercolour, star brads to hold the paper together.
Reference: None

This painting is bloodmarked and copyright 2012 to Aria "51" Keehn ShePaintsWithBlood (me) Thank you so much for looking! <3:blackrose:

Lovely work here! I love the idea of this dragon being able to live even with a skull head too

Hahaha yes it is kind of funny to think about all the skull animals that frolic across dA's landscapes and wonder how exactly they get on it life? I guess by magic! Thank you!:blackrose:

Heee...now that you point it out, it is pretty amazing how many skull-headed beasties there are on this site! I guess it could be magic or some other animal using these skulls as their homes/anchor to the world...I did have an fascinating/terrifying incident once where I found a cat skull in my family's back yard, and picked it up, only to have tons of ants pour out of it and onto my hand. It's pretty neat what kinds of places different creatures make their homes in...

you're welcome!

This is so beautiful, both serene and playful at the same time. I always love your abstract creatures for their unique originality from any other animal, be they real or mythical.~
